Book Page Wreaths

The Book Page Wreath is one of my non-floral creations, but to me, it feels "flowery" enough to be counted among the other B's Blossoms.

I just love old books. I love how they smell. I love imagining the life they had before they were mine. Whose shelf did they sit on before they sat on mine? What kind of conversations did they overhear? Were they well-loved, or forgotten, neglected, and left to collect dust or the rings off the bottoms of leftover coffee cups?

I know it may be silly to think about those things, but even as I look at the shiny newer books on my shelf, I wonder about who will one day inherit them, read them, and love them.

When I found these two old hymnals for free in a giveaway bin one day, I knew two things: They had to be mine & I had to give them a new life. From them I created the first of many indoor wreaths.

I love how the pages of the hymnals were different colors. The white and cream made for a nice, contrasting, vintage feel.

Mrs. Hebert's Blossoms

I was so honored the day Sarah Jane, a college friend, contacted me to design some pieces for her wedding. SJ was B's Blossoms' very first customer and I am proud to say that she was delighted with her blooms!

Coordinating pieces were created for SJ and her flower girl. 

 Both blossoms were hand-crafted from delicate, shimmery, white fabric and adorned with silver sparkles (her wedding colors were black and silver; Very classic looking!)

In lieu of her veil, Mrs. Hebert adorned her hair with a blossom during the reception.

My next wedding project is for the Mrs. Meers-to-be and I am so excited! Won't you allow me to create some special pieces for you and your wedding attendants? HairFlowers

HairFlowers have a special place in my heart because the HairFlower is where B's Blossoms was born! When I was teaching 2nd grade, I had a hairstyle that my students called "Fiesta Hair". To me, it was an alternative to the bad-hair-day ponytail or the lazy I-don't-feel-like-getting-dressed bun, but to them, it looked like a party.

After I stopped teaching and moved to Raleigh to attend seminary, the fiesta hair (just a low messy side bun right behind my ear) continued, but I decided it needed a little more polish.

And so, the first blossom bloomed!

Named after my roommate, "Kacie at the Beach" is a swirly pink, blue, green, and white cotton bloom adhered to a long bobbi pin. At only $2, you should pick some of these flowers for you and all of your friends! (10 in stock)

 Named "Kacie Shops" because, well, Kacie shopped and brought home this lovely fabric, this HairFlower is a stunning shimmery, sheer, cream bloom adhered to a long bobbi pin. $4. (5 in stock)

 Finally, "Kacie Works" was originally designed to coordinate with her work uniform. However, this black and white cotton blossom, embellished with white shimmery fabric and tiny rhinestones and adhered to a long bobbi pin, could compliment many outfits. $5. (2 in stock)

FireFlowers

This crop of FireFlowers is just waiting to be customized!

Made from satiny fabric, melted by hand over a candle, and bejeweled with sparkly rhinestones, these individually-unique blossoms can be placed singularly onto a hairpin or ponytailer, or they can be placed in bunches onto a headband. They can also be ordered "loose" for later attachment to your own sweaters, fabric bags, or anything else you desire. At only $3 per flower, the possibilities are affordably endless!
